Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAR-InSAR and Image Processing Development Engineer to join our research and development team. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of algorithms and software implementation, playing a key role in enhancing our SARscape processing suite and supporting both commercial and research projects.

This role involves designing and implementing core algorithms and kernels for SAR-InSAR image and signal processing, focusing on C/C++ library development for integration into SARscape. It does not involve building workflows using existing market-available libraries.

A strong background in remote sensing, SAR-InSAR theory, problem-solving, and teamwork is essential. This is a full-time, on-site position within an international and multidisciplinary environment, comprising signal processing engineers, GIS experts, geologists, software developers, and computer scientists.

Note: This position is not for SAR-InSAR Processing, Quality Control, or Remote Sensing analysis experts. Strong software algorithm development skills are required.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

As a SAR Image and Signal Processing Development Engineer at sarmap, you will be at the forefront of technological advancements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and implementing SAR-InSAR image and signal processing algorithms in collaboration with the computer science team to develop highly effective software solutions.
  • Processing satellite data and analyzing results to enhance software performance and improve product generation.

Required Technical Skills:

We are looking for a talented professional with the following expertise:

  • At least 5 years of experience in SAR and InSAR, Image and Signal Processing, and software development.
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++, IDL; familiarity with shell scripting is an advantage.
  • Experience with dedicated software such as ENVI-SARscape or similar tools is appreciated.
  • Familiarity with GPGPU programming (OpenCL, CUDA) is a plus.

Required Education:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • MSc or PhD in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in SAR-InSAR data processing and GIS analysis is a plus.

Languages:

  • Good knowledge of English (both spoken and written) is required.
  • Proficiency in Italian is an advantage.
