We are looking for a senior-level Computer vision & AI engineer.

As a Computer vision & AI engineer at sarmap SA, you will play a key role as part of the research and development team to work on the extraction of relevant information from SAR datasets to meet internal standards and client expectations.

Position Description
As a Computer vision & AI engineer, your responsibilities will include development and implementation of algorithms and software modules for processing and analyzing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery to extract operational insights, maps, and reports exploiting cutting edge AI technologies including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Vision Transformers (ViT), and beyond. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to contribute to projects like security and intelligence services, environmental monitoring and infrastructure assessment.
A good knowledge of remote sensing and satellite imaging is desirable, together with strong problem-solving and team-working skills, while AI / CV / DL / Data Science competences shall be the foundation.
Your Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage data processing pipelines for handling extensive image-based datasets.
- Innovate and implement state-of-the-art visual recognition solutions tailored to SAR imagery.
- Stay ahead of the curve in object detection and object classification, ensuring top-tier performance.
- Produce articulate reports and presentations, showcasing your analytical prowess and critical thinking.
Technical skills

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in computer vision, employing cutting-edge AI methodologies.
- Deep understanding of computer vision fundamentals and the theory behind deep learning models, particularly in object detection and classification.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in CV, such as Python and C++ .
- Demonstrated experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Project management experience.

Required Education

- MSc or PhD degree in Data science, Computer science, Computer vision or related field.
- Specialization in computer vision, artificial intelligence, or a related area through proven work.
- Additional, prior experience working on remote sensing, satellite imagery analysis or similar field is highly advantageous.
Languages
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Italian will be an additional advantage.
